Worship Ministry Testimony

I am so thankful to be a part of the worship ministry at Harvest. Ever since I truly gave my life over to God, He has given me a heart for worship. I know that this is a gift from Him for a purpose. I believe that aside from singing or playing music, our lives are to be an active worship to Him every day. In so many different areas of my life I have seen God’s hand move. By God’s grace He gives me breath to sing and a heart to see others truly come to know God, to know His Presence, to feel His Peace. No matter what beat is played or what words are sung, I pray that God would truly be pleased with our hearts. It’s such an intimate thing when we stop and realize that this is not a game, it’s not a warm up for the message, but it’s our chance to come before God, come to His feet, rest in His Presence. Thank Him, cry out to Him, and love Him. Let Him fill you. Let Him heal your wounds. Let His power and magnificence move you. I pray that today you would come to know Him more as we worship. Psalm 5:11 says, ”But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy.”

In November 16th's Worship Set....

“Your walls are Salvation”?? This lyric in the song My Deliverer could easily seem strange the first time you sing it, but it comes from Isaiah 60:18 where it says “you will call your walls salvation and your gates praise.” The context here is the restoration of the city of Jerusalem, which included the rebuilding of the city walls to provide protection (Neh. 1-4, 12). With the walls in place, there would again be security for the people (Salvation) for which they would be grateful to God (Praise). This picture of the defense and protection we have in Him is very appropriate for an anthem celebrating the Lord as our Deliverer.

Before The Dawn is a song that was written as a battle cry to one’s own heart…a call to action, a call to “rise up” and not casually stumble into the day without preparations against competing affections and the subtle (or not) attacks of the enemy. A favorite, though sometimes misunderstood statement is the last line of the song “Pain and sorrow are perfecting, what You’ve made me – let me be.” This is simply the truth that we now need to LIVE what God has already declared us to be….holy, righteous, clean. May our obedience and God’s faithfulness through the trials of life get us ever closer.

If I tary, the morning's gone.
